Additional Information

DAY 1 Depart home area and travel to Scotland’s ancient capital, the ‘Fair City’ of Perth, making frequent comfort stops along the way. Arrive at the hotel in time to freshen up before our evening meal.
DAY 2 After breakfast we travel through an area of outstanding natural beauty to Stirling, a wee city with a big history. Stirling boasts many attractions and plenty of places for lunch to be purchased. Browse independent boutiques in the historic surroundings of the Old Town and the Victorian Stirling Arcade. Unusually, the centre was built around a 16th century jail cell, known as the Thieves Pot. Take a look inside and hear the tales of times gone by! Afterwards continue to Balloch, where we board our 2 hour cruise to experience the magic of Loch Lomond’s magnificent scenery. Enjoy magnificent views of Ben
Lomond and pass a number of Loch Lomond stately homes and castles along the shoreline. We return to hotel where we have time to enjoy a pre-dinner drink before our evening meal.
DAY 3 After breakfast travel to remarkable Edinburgh where we spend the day at leisure. Edinburgh is Scotland’s capital city renowned for its heritage and culture. Take a walk around the narrow wynds of the Old Town and the sweeping elegance of the Georgian New Town, as well as all the area’s museums and galleries (entrances not included). Then stop for lunch at one of the many cafes, tea rooms and restaurants this city has to offer.

DAY 4 After breakfast enjoy a guided coach tour of the Trossach National Park. The Trossachs area became popular after the poem “The Lady of the Lake” was written by Sir Walter Scott in 1810. ‘Trossachs’ is a unique word, for a unique place. It refers to the romantic area of sparkling lochs, crumpled hills, sleepy forests and welcoming villages east of Loch Lomond and west of Stirling. Some call it ‘The Highlands in miniature’ and that’s a good description. The Trossachs became a haven for those seeking romantic beauty with Wordsworth, Coleridge and many famous artists also visiting the area. Our first stop is at Callander, a pretty town situated on the River Teith, often described as the gateway to the Highlands. Set dramatically
beneath high, wooded crags, the colourful town is crammed with teashops and souvenir shops. Then continue past Loch Venachar and Loch Achray where we then travel south along The Dukes Pass, a road which meanders through a delightful 7 mile stretch of the Park with scenic surprises around every corner and bend. Visit the picturesque conservation village of Luss which sits on the western shore of Loch Lomond just off the A82. Occupation of this area dates back to medieval times. No visit to Luss is complete without taking in the view from the end of the pier with Ben Lomond standing proudly over Loch
Lomond. Our on-board guide will know the best places to stop today, who will also fit in time to purchase lunch and refreshments.
DAY 5 After breakfast return to home area making suitable comfort stops along the way.
