COACH HOLIDAY ITINERARY
DAY 1 Travel to South Wales making suitable comfort stops, including a stop in Chippenham for lunch to be purchased. We have a cup of tea/coffee on arrival at the hotel with time to freshen up before our evening meal.
DAY 2 After breakfast we travel to the Gower Heritage Centre where we meet our guide for a 2-hour guided coach tour of beautiful Gower. We return to the Gower Heritage Centre for a traditional Welsh cream tea before travelling to the coastal village of Mumbles, where we have the afternoon at leisure. A fishing village situated at the Western end of Swansea Bay, Mumbles marks the beginning of the Gower Peninsula’s coastline. Return to the hotel later for our evening meal.
DAY 3 After breakfast visit the must-see Llancaiach Fawr Manor living history museum. Set in the turbulent times of the Civil War, visitors are welcomed by the servants of Colonel Pritchard dressed in period costume. This afternoon we head to the Margam Country Park to visit Margam Castle, a 19th Century Tudor Gothic Mansion, for a guided tour. Board the Margam Train from the Car Park to the Castle. Their expert guides offer us the chance to explore the castle and visit the rooms normally closed to the public. Enjoy afternoon tea in the 18th Century Orangery, before returning to the hotel later for our evening meal.
DAY 4 After breakfast travel north to Bronwydd Arms Station to take the morning service on the lovingly restored Gwili Narrow-Gauge Railway as it winds its way north beside the River Gwili, before returning to Abergwili junction and Bronwydd Arms Station. In the afternoon we travel to marvellous Aberglasney House & Gardens. With history dating from the 1600s this partially restored mansion features a sub-tropical indoor garden as well as 10 acres of exquisite landscaped gardens. No trip to Aberglasney is complete without visiting the Tearooms, idyllically located overlooking the Pool Garden. The Tearooms are cosy inside while the terrace is a real suntrap. It’s the perfect place to purchase lunch as it boasts homemade, freshly prepared meals. We arrive back at the hotel ready for our evening meal.
DAY 5 After breakfast check out of the hotel and return to home area, stopping in Marlborough for lunch to be purchased.
