The Royal family have strong connections to Scotland and this tour traces their footsteps as we visit Glamis Castle, the Royal Yacht Britannia, and the Palace of Holyroodhouse where we enjoy a sumptuous afternoon tea. A cruise on the Firth of Forth and a trip on the Falkirk Wheel are also included.

Day 1

Depart home area and travel to Scotland making suitable comfort stops. Upon arrival at our hotel we enjoy a homemade scone with a cup of tea/coffee while our cases are taken to our rooms.

Day 2

Today we enjoy a guided tour of Glamis Castle, renowned for being Scotland’s most beautiful castle. Famous for being the legendary setting of Shakespeare’s Macbeth, the childhood home of HM Queen Elizabeth, The Queen Mother and the birthplace of Princess Margaret. Opportunity to purchase refreshments here before our journey to Dundee. Enjoy some free time to explore the many shops and purchase lunch before our afternoon visit to see Discovery Point and explore Captain Scott’s ship, Discovery, which he sailed to Antarctica. Time to purchase refreshments here before returning to our hotel.

Day 3

This morning we embark on a Three Bridges circular cruise of the Firth of Forth. We enjoy magnificent views of the "three bridges" including the world-famous Forth Railway Bridge, the Edinburgh skyline to the south and Fife to the north. Look out for the marine wildlife including seals and puffins (sights not guaranteed). Afterwards we travel to the Falkirk Wheel, the World’s only rotating boat lift, to enjoy the full experience as we sail through the sky connecting the Forth and Clyde canals. There is a café on site where we can purchase lunch beforehand.

Day 4

Today we visit Edinburgh and visit the Royal Yacht Britannia, the Queen’s former floating royal residence for more than 40 years. We explore her five decks and discover where kings and queens, world leaders and celebrities were wined and dined. Afterwards we have free time in Edinburgh. We drop you off in George Street, one of the Scottish capital’s main shopping streets, which runs through the heart of the elegant new town, there are plenty of places to eat. This afternoon, we visit the Palace of Holyroodhouse, the Queen’s official Scottish residence. We explore the grand rooms and enjoy a delicious afternoon tea consisting of assorted finger sandwiches, pastries and freshly baked scones with tea or coffee, in the historic setting of the Mews Courtyard.

Day 5

After breakfast, we make our way home making suitable comfort stops.
