New Year in Harrogate, Yorkshire

New Year is a great time to spend away, whether you are keen to join in with the celebrations, or wish escape. The celebrations bring opportunity to meet new people, drink, eat and have fun. Celebrate New Year’s Eve at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Harrogate with a night of glamour, great food and attentive staff. See the outstanding Yorkshire Dales where we visit Grassington and Skipton. We also visit historic York for the Sales on New Years Day.

Day 1

Depart home area we make our way to Newark, one of the most impressive and attractive towns on the River Trent. The town is steeped in history, with a picturesque castle ruin overlooking the river. There are plenty of delightful shops to browse and restaurants or cafes to obtain lunch. We arrive at our hotel late afternoon. Upon arrival enjoy a cup of tea/coffee whilst our luggage is taken to our bedroom.

Day 2

New Years Eve
After breakfast enjoy a scenic tour through the Yorkshire Dales National Park, stopping in the delightful village of Grassington with many charming independent shops and tea rooms to visit. Afterwards we continue to Skipton, the southern gateway to the Yorkshire Dales. There is an historic cobbled high street full of pleasant shops and restaurants. We return to our hotel with plenty of time to freshen up and get ready for our New Years Eve Gala Ball, the ultimate way to welcome in the New Year! Our evening begins with a Fizz reception with canapés followed by a 5 course Gala Dinner with music afterwards to dance the night away and see the New Year in.

Day 3

New Years Day
After breakfast, the day is ours to discover elegant Harrogate, many of the streets have their own personality. Alternatively you can join our coach to York located approx. an hour away. Time to explore its 2000 years of history, from the ancient walls of Roman York to the grandeur of Georgian York. Discover hidden attractions off the beaten track, wander the shops, visit the famous Shambles or the famous York Mister (entry extra), the choice is yours. With many shops starting their New Year Sales, you are spoilt for choice.

Day 4

After breakfast we depart our hotel, and make a lunch stop in the elegant town of Stamford where many period dramas have been filmed. There are many shops and tea rooms and even a Weatherspoons to obtain lunch before returning home.

This excellent 4-star hotel is in the heart of historic Harrogate with wonderful views across the Yorkshire Dales. The hotel offers high levels of service and comfort.
