Day 1
Travel to Yorkshire making suitable comfort stops along the way, including time in Newark for lunch to be purchased.
DDay 2
Spend the morning at leisure in Harrogate. There are many cafes, tea rooms and shops here, but no stay is complete without a visit to the famous Betty’s Tea Room. Afterwards we travel to Skipton, with its famous 900-year old castle, romantic ruined priory and historic cobbled High Street, Skipton is endlessly rich both in history and natural beauty.
B, DDay 3
After breakfast we travel to York where we board our cruise. The York City Cruise is both an entertaining and informative tour of the River Ouse which enables us to admire the scenery from the comfort of the enclosed saloon or the upper deck. Take home fascinating facts about the incredible history of York and its river from the commentary delivered by the local skippers. Learn about York’s famous history of flooding and its previous prosperity as an inland port, all while sailing along the very river that brought the Romans and the Vikings to this beautiful city. Afterwards, we have free time in York to purchase lunch and explore the city.
B, DDay 4
Travel through the spectacular Yorkshire Dales National Park to a delightful village called Hawes, home to the world famous Yorkshire Wensleydale Cheese. We visit the Wensleydale Creamery for an award-winning flagship cheese experience. Afterwards free time in Hawes to look around the charming individual shops and opportunity to purchase lunch in one of the tea rooms.
B, DDay 5
After breakfast we head home making suitable comfort stops along the way, including a stop in Stamford for lunch to be purchased.

THE OLD SWAN HOTEL, HARROGATE ****
Enter the Old Swan Hotel through its revolving doors, it is an elegant, ivycovered Victorian hotel with a traditional elegance. The hotel is surrounded by pretty lawns and gardens with history dating back nearly 200 years, including being the tranquil haven that Agatha Christie mysteriously disappeared in 1926.
