Discover Sidmouth, South Devon

A town caught still in a timeless charm – Sidmouth is a beautiful coastal town with a regency feel; the resort was very fashionable in the 1800s and was visited by Queen Victoria in her youth. Nestled beneath majestic red cliffs and the green hills of the glorious Sid Valley, this is the perfect base to discover some of the highlights of South Devon.

Day 1

Travel to our hotel in Sidmouth, Devon, making suitable comfort stops along the way.

Day 2

Enjoy a morning at leisure in Sidmouth. The hotel is located on Sidmouth’s Esplanade and is less than a 5-minute walk from the cafés, restaurants and shops in town. This afternoon we visit the Donkey Sanctuary, home to hundreds of donkeys waiting to meet us.

Day 3

After breakfast travel through East Devon’s Area of Outstanding Beauty to Lyme Regis, a pretty seaside resort boasting breath-taking scenery. Opportunity to purchase lunch and walk around the harbour and shops before we visit Seaton. From Seaton we travel back in time on board a vintage style tram car. Travel the 3mile route through East Devon’s Axe Valley.

Day 4

This morning we travel to Teignmouth, a stunning coastal town situated on the edge of the mouth of the River Teign and the South Devon coast. Teignmouth has historic Georgian buildings, charming shops and tea rooms. Afterwards, we visit Exeter, the capital city of Devon and one of the most attractive and historically interesting cities in England. Before we return to our hotel we head to Exmouth Marina for a relaxing River Exe cruise.
