Delights of North Devon

Fully Escorted!

This holiday to North Devon features spectacular views, historic harbours, lush valley and a cliff lift as we visit some of the area’s most picturesque locations. Highlights include the market town of Barnstaple, The Quince Honey Farm, Lynton and Lynmouth and picturesque Clovelly.

Day 1

Depart home area and make our way to North Devon, making suitable refreshment stops on route. We arrive at our hotel late afternoon with time to freshen up before our evening meal.

Day 2

After breakfast, we enjoy a free morning in Barnstaple. Barnstaple remains a thriving market town with a traditional Pannier Market*, we can visit the Green Lanes Shopping Centre or the Museum of North Devon (entry extra). This afternoon we travel to nearby Ilfracombe, which has something for everyone. There is a picturesque historic harbour of quaint coloured houses, stunning beaches and coves, great eateries, art and craft galleries and independent shops.

Day 3

This morning we spend time at leisure in the twin villages, Lynton and Lynmouth, take the cliff railway from one to the other! This unique Victorian water powered funicular cliff lift (disabled access is limited) transports you 500ft up and down to the villages where we can explore the villages (extra cost). This afternoon we head back via Woolacombe Bay, opportunity to look around the varied independent shops and purchase afternoon tea before returning to our hotel.

Day 4

This morning we visit Clovelly, a beautiful picturesque fishing village. Wonder around the village, Clovelly Court gardens, the Fisherman’s Cottage and Kingsley Museum. On our return journey to our hotel we stop in Bideford, one of the prettiest and most distinct looking towns in North Devon, enjoy some quayside shopping with a mix of shops, cafes and restaurants while enjoying beautiful views of the river Torridge and the historic Bideford Bridge.

Day 5

We say farewell to Devon and travel homeward topping in Stourhead for lunch to be obtained.
