Delve into the mysteries of Scotland’s watery depths and explore some of its finest waterways and scenic railway journeys. During your holiday we have included two scenic loch cruises, a visit to the amazing Falkirk Wheel and steam railway journey on the Bo’Ness & Kinneil Railway with afternoon tea and one of the most breath-taking Scottish train journeys from Glasgow to Oban.

Day 1

Travel to Scotland and arrive at the Winnock Hotel where we receive a warm welcome, tonight we have a drinks reception followed by our evening meal.

Day 2

After breakfast travel into the Trossachs National Park. We travel via Aberfoyle to the beautiful Loch Katrine where we enjoy a 2-hour cruise. Afterwards we visit medieval Stirling, visit the Old Town with its bustling modern city centre boasting the finest concentration of historic buildings in Scotland.

Day 3

After a leisurely mornings we visit the Falkirk Wheel, a rotating boat lift in central Scotland. Time to purchase lunch here before our afternoon train ride on the Bo’Ness and Kinneil steam railway. Friendly staff welcome us aboard a historic carriage, the scenery is varied but beautiful all year round. Enjoy an afternoon tea served on board.

Day 4

Today we head for Glasgow where we join our Scotrail Train for one of Scotland’s most scenic rail routes to Oban. Enjoy this spectacular 3-hour train journey which travels along the Gare Loch, through the Trossachs National Park, and along the shores of Loch Awe and Loch Etive. A journey not to be missed! We have free time in Oban to browse the many shops, opportunity to visit Oban’s chocolate shop and bring home some handmade chocolates!

Day 5

After breakfast we travel a short distance to the village of Luss which sits on the western shore of Loch Lomond. Afterwards visit Lomond Shores for free time before our 2-hour cruise on the Loch discovering its hidden islands.

Day 6

Bid farewell to Scotland and return to home area, making suitable comfort stops along the way.

A very warm welcome awaits you at The Winnock, an award-winning hotel located on the village green in pretty Drymen.
