Experience the magic of the festive season on this enchanting short break, combining the breathtaking Longleat Festival of Light with the charm of Winchester’s famous Christmas Market. From glowing lanterns and grand estates to historic towns adorned with twinkling lights, this wonderful getaway captures the very best of winter’s sparkle — perfect for getting into the Christmas spirit.

Day 1

We travel to our hotel with a leisurely stop in the elegant market town of Marlborough, where historic buildings line the wide High Street and independent shops sparkle with festive displays. Enjoy time to browse and purchase lunch before continuing to our welcoming hotel for dinner.

Day 2

A truly unforgettable day awaits at Longleat Safari Park and the world-famous Festival of Light. As dusk falls, Longleat transforms into an illuminated wonderland, with spectacular lantern displays, themed trails, and larger-than-life scenes from around the world lighting up the estate. Wander through glowing gardens, enjoy festive food stalls, and soak up the enchanting atmosphere. (Please note: entry to Longleat House and the Santa Train is not included.)

Day 3

Today we visit Winchester, England’s ancient capital, where the magnificent cathedral provides a stunning backdrop to one of the country’s best-loved Christmas Markets. Explore traditional wooden chalets filled with handmade gifts, crafts, and seasonal treats, or take time to enjoy the city’s beautiful architecture and cosy cafés.

Day 4

After breakfast, we travel home, pausing in Windsor, where there’s time to purchase lunch and perhaps explore the charming town centre and views of the castle, a perfect finale to our festive escape.
