Ideally situated close to Durham’s historic centre, Hotel Indigo Durham offers stylish and comfortable accommodation within walking distance of the city’s shops, restaurants and famous landmarks. Housed within a beautifully restored university building, the hotel blends historic character with modern facilities.

Please Note: This hotel has been selected for its location near a variety of restaurants, the hotel’s own restaurant will not be expecting to cater for evening meals.

Day 1

Travel to Durham pausing in Newark, to explore its historic streets and charming independent shops before arriving at our hotel.

Day 2

Day at leisure in Durham, home to some of England’s most iconic landmarks; Durham Cathedral, Prince Bishops Place, Durham Castle (entries extra). Discover popular high streets stores, independent shops and eateries.

Day 3

Explore Locomotion in Shildon, the birthplace of the railways, with fascinating historic engines and a café inspired by Eurostar seating. Later, visit the Sunderland Museum and Winter Gardens, offering fascinating exhibits and lush indoor gardens.

Depart for home, stopping in Boundary Mills, Grantham for lunch and shopping before continuing your journey.

On the return journey, enjoy time at Boundary Mills for shopping and lunch before travelling home.
