A Very Oxford Scandal

This holiday includes a guided walking tour around the historic streets of Oxford, a picturesque Thames cruise following the path of the famous Regatta, a scenic Cotswolds drive and visits to the superb Blenheim Palace and Cliveden - known for its part in the scandalous ‘Profumo Affair’!

Day 1

Depart home area and travel to Windsor for free time to explore the streets lined with traditional architecture, quaint shops and charming pubs and restaurants.

Day 2

Today we visit the magnificent city of Oxford with its honey-gold buildings, dreaming spires and riverside setting. Enjoy a one-hour guided walking tour of the city to learn more abouti ts history and famous landmarks. Afterwards, we have free time to obtain lunch and wander the city on our own.

Day 3

We start our day with a short, scenic drive around the pretty Cotswolds, and the market town of Stow-on-the-Wold. We then head to the fabulous Blenheim Palace, the seat of the Dukes of Marlborough, with the rest of the day to explore at leisure.

Day 4

This morning we visit the spectacular gardens of Cliveden, the former home of the Astor family. With beautiful views over the Thames, we have time to obtain lunch and explore the impressive gardens. This afternoon we embark on a 1-hour circular cruise with on board commentary following the path of the famous Regatta.

After breakfast, we depart for home area stopping in the delightful village of Wallingford.
