Day 1
To the delightful market town of Newark-on-Trent, time to explore and obtain lunch before continuing to our hotel in County Durham. On arrival, enjoy a warm welcome with tea, coffee and biscuits while our luggage is taken to our room. Later, a drinks reception before dinner.
DDay 2
Christmas Eve
After breakfast, visit beautiful Raby Castle, where Christmas magic awaits. Set within a stunning medieval estate, the castle is beautifully decorated for the festive season, creating a wonderful atmosphere.
Day 3
Merry Christmas!
Enjoy a festive treasure hunt, guess the weight of the Christmas cake and take part in the Christmas quiz. After a traditional Christmas lunch with wine, Santa arrives with a special gift! Relax with tea and Christmas cake while watching The King’s Christmas Message, followed by a light hot buffet and live entertainment.
Day 4
Boxing Day
After breakfast, travel to the historic city of Durham. Explore its medieval streets, visit magnificent Durham Cathedral, browse the shops and find somewhere to enjoy lunch.
Day 5
After breakfast, begin our journey home with a visit to the beautiful market town of Stamford. Enjoy its historic streets, charming stone buildings and independent shops before continuing home.

Christmas Eve brings a visit to magnificent Raby Castle, where the historic surroundings are transformed for the festive season. Set within a beautiful medieval estate, the castle provides a wonderful backdrop for a magical Christmas visit.
Explore the beautifully decorated interiors and soak up the seasonal atmosphere before returning to our hotel to continue the celebrations.
Wake up on Christmas morning with a full programme of festive activities to enjoy at the hotel. Take part in a Christmas treasure hunt and quiz, or have a go at guessing the weight of the Christmas cake.
The celebrations continue with a traditional Christmas lunch accompanied by a glass of wine, before a special visit from Santa with a small gift. Later, enjoy tea and Christmas cake while watching The Kings Christmas Message, followed by a light hot buffet and live entertainment.
With no cooking, washing-up or organising to worry about, simply relax and enjoy Christmas Day in good company.
On Boxing Day, we visit the magnificent city of Durham, famous for its medieval streets and impressive historic architecture.
Enjoy free time to discover the city at your own pace, perhaps visiting the magnificent Durham Cathedral, browsing the shops or finding somewhere for lunch before returning to our hotel.
There is plenty to enjoy on our outward and homeward journeys too. On our first day, we visit the market town of Newark-on-Trent, with time to explore and enjoy lunch before continuing north to County Durham.
Our Christmas break concludes with a visit to beautiful Stamford, where historic streets, attractive stone buildings and independent shops provide a delightful final stop before we continue home.
