COACH HOLIDAY INTERARY
DAY 1 Depart home area and travel to Devon making suitable comfort stops along the way, including time at the Wilton Shopping Village for lunch to be purchased. On arrival at the hotel we have a cup of tea/coffee to welcome us, followed by time to freshen up before our evening meal.
DAY 2 After breakfast travel to Plymouth and board the Mount Edgcumbe Ferry for a harbour cruise and a trip to Cremyll Quay, Cornwall. We will be met by a shuttle bus on the outside of Mount Edgcumbe Country Park and then be taken to Mount Edgcumbe House. This beautiful mansion and its 18th Century listed gardens are set within an 865 acre Country Park on the Rame Peninsula. Decorated in a classical style and home to some of the treasures collected by the family over the centuries, the house is a haven of calm for visitors to explore the past. Explore the gardens moving through layers of gardening history from the 16th century to the modern Black Bee Reserve.
DAY 3 After breakfast visit Buckland Abbey. Follow over 700 years of footsteps; from the Cistercians who built the Abbey and farmed the estate, to seafarers Grenville and Drake who changed the shape of the house and the fate of the country. There is a restaurant on-site here for lunch to be purchased. Whether it's a warming bowl of home-made soup, a delicious hot chocolate or a slice of cake, no day out is complete without a yummy treat. The Abbey is crammed with a variety of treasures such as Sir Francis Drake’s drum. Discover the wealth of fascinating tales, amazing architecture and over eight centuries of history. Discover meadows, orchards and woodlands where we can enjoy far-reaching views of the Tavy Valley. Return to the hotel with time to freshen up before our evening meal.
DAY 4 After breakfast visit the beautiful Cotehele property. Built 600 years ago, it truly seems as though time has stood still here. The Hall and surrounding rooms have changed little since Tudor times and the 12 acre garden features terraces, ponds and ancient orchards. Take a shuttle bus to Cotehele Quay to discover the 1899 Tamar sailing barge, ‘Shamrock’, lime kilns and the Discovery Centre. Enjoy a cream tea before returning to hotel later for our evening meal.
DAY 5 After breakfast return to home area making suitable comfort stops along the way, as well as somewhere suitable for lunch to be purchased.
