DAY 2 After breakfast enjoy a coastal coach tour visiting Filey, a traditional seaside resort with historic promenade with its own sandy beach. We continue to Bridlington via Flamborough. Bridlington’s preroman harbour and characterful Old Town are both a must see, being home to the beautiful Augustinian Priory, Bayle Museum and harbour Heritage Museum. We return to hotel with time to relax before our evening meal.
DAY 3 Spend the day at leisure in Scarborough. The town centre boasts the Brunswick Shopping Centre and further down town towards south bay beach there are the novelty gift and joke shops. The nearest beach is a 10-minute walk and there are plenty of cafes and restaurants for lunch to be purchased.
DAY 4 After breakfast we head for one of the best beaches in the World, Robin Hood’s Bay. The town consists of a maze of tiny streets for us to wander along. Afterwards continue to Whitby, a traditional seaside resort with Blue Flag beaches, where we can get some of the best fish and chips. Did you know that Captain Cook (who was born nearby) had his first ship, the Endeavour, built in Whitby? Bram Stoker’s famous Dracula features this town, too. There are a lovely array of shops and cafes here to enjoy. Afterwards, travel through the North York Moors (Heartbeat Country) to Goathland for our afternoon stop. This is a very pretty village with some stunning views of the moors. Return to hotel in time to freshen up before our evening meal.
