Embark on an unforgettable and colourful cruise through the romantic Rhine Valley, through the Rüesheim vineyard and open-air cafes and the beautiful city of Heidelberg.
Day 1
UK to Strasbourg. We depart home area and make our way to Folkestone, for our Eurotunnel crossing. We then travel through France making suitable refreshment stops and arrive at our ship late afternoon. Time to refresh and unpack in your cabins before your welcome cocktail reception followed by your evening meal.
DDay 2
Strasbourg to Rüdesheim. Today we spend a morning leisurely cruising along the Rhine to Rüdesheim, located at the gateway to the UNESCO World Heritage Site of the Upper Middle Rhine Valley. After lunch we visit this picture-book town, which has a long tradition of wine growing and the town is renowned for its Riesling and Pinot Noir wines. Overlooked by the towers of the ruined Ehrenfels Castle, a stroll along the charming paved Drosselgasse is a must. This famous 144m long lane is lined with traditional taverns, cafes and intimate courtyards where there is live music and dancing every day. Enjoy an included guided tour of Rüdesheim by touristic train and tasting of the famous wines of the region and guided visit of the Museum of Mechanical Musical Instruments. Tonight, after dinner, there will be on board entertainment.
B, L, DDay 3
Rudesheim - Koblenz - Rhine in Flames. Today we cruise further along the Rhine and marvel en-route at some of the Rhine Valley’s most famous landmarks including the 130m high Lorelei Rock, named after the Rhine water siren, the legend of whom is as old as time itself, and the Mäuseturm, an ancient customs post now used as a beacon tower for shipping. We cruise pass Oberwesel. Goarhausen, Boppard and arrive in Koblenz. Time to look around the old town. In the evening, our ship will sail towards Trechtingshausen. Tonight, we’ll have a magical evening as we take part in a romantic and unforgettable experience: The legendary "Rhine in Flames".
B, L, DDay 4
Rüdesheim to Mannheim. The morning will be spent cruising to Mannheim. Join us on coach excursion to visit Heidelberg. reputed for its romantic cityscape. Surrounded by forested hills, it sits on the banks of the Neckar River. The Old Town is filled with museums and historical buildings like the Church of the Holy Spirit, the Karl Theodor Bridge, and a castle that mixes Gothic and Renaissance styles. There are plenty of shops to browse including a C & A’s! Tonight, is our gala evening and dinner. Our ship will sail towards Strasbourg.
B, L, DDay 5
Mannheim to Strasbourg. After breakfast we depart our ship and make our homeward journey travelling through France making suitable refreshment stops enroute. We cross the channel via Eurotunnel and arrive home early evening.
