Fully Escorted!

Book Now

Are you a little apprehensive about getting out again and meeting people? Did you enjoy socialising and taking holidays with partners or friends? Would you like to meet people who find themselves in similar situations? In August 2011 we started the Friendship Club for people who had lost loved ones or whose friends and relatives had moved away. We encourage you to join us on these Fully Escorted holidays, where nobody feels they are on their own.

Join us on this fabulous holiday to Derbyshire where you will be transported back in time at the Crich Tramway Museum, visit amazing Chatsworth House and Gardens, take a leisurely boat cruise and enjoy the stunning scenery Derbyshire offers and a chance to bring home a traditional Bakewell pudding.

Day 1

We depart home area and make our way to our hotel making suitable refreshment stops. Our lunch stop will be at Boundary Mills at Grantham where everything is under one roof. We continue to our hotel and enjoy a welcome tea/coffee upon arrival.

Day 2

This morning we visit the Crich Tramway Museum, a period village museum where you can travel along the traditional village street on a vintage tram. There are many exhibitions to view and opportunity to visit the old sweet shop, the pub, restaurant, and purchase lunch. Unfortunately, the prices are not in old money! In the afternoon we continue to Cromford, from where you enjoy a return 2-hour narrow boat cruise through the picturesque Derwent Valley. Return to your hotel with time to relax and meet your Tour Escort in the bar for a get together before our evening meal.

Day 3

Enjoy a free morning in Derby. Discover the Derby Cathedral Quarter with unique independent shops, great cafes and restaurants and historic landmarks. In the afternoon visit Chesterfield, famous for its shops and the unique and unusual Crooked Spire Church.

Day 4

Today we visit the fabulous Chatsworth House in the heart of the Peak District. For those Jane Austen fans you can still imagine Mr Darcy strolling along one of the pathways after he has a dip in his lake and comes across Miss Bennett semi dressed! Chatsworth House is home to the Duke and Duchess of Devonshire. Opportunity to stroll around the beautiful gardens, take a picture of the famous water fountain and wander around the magnificent rooms of Chatsworth. There are plenty of refreshment facilities to get something to eat. In the afternoon we travel to nearby Bakewell, famous for its Bakewell Pudding. Why not bring one back with you?
