Experience the heart of each country, travelling along the river these countries thrive on and visit some of the deeper, more cultural and historical experiences, from the Imperial Vienna & Budapest to one of the youngest Capitals of Europe, Bratislava.
Day 1
UK to Germany.
Crossing the channel by Eurotunnel then travel through Belgium to Holland making suitable refreshment stops, arrive in the afternoon at our overnight hotel in Germany with time to freshen up before your evening meal.
Day 2
Germany - Passau.
After breakfast we travel through Germany making refreshment stops and arrive in Passau just across the Austrian border for embarkation of your cruise vessel mid-afternoon.
Day 3
Passau - Melk.
Our ship departs Passau and makes its way along the Danube River to Melk. Enjoy a guided tour of the Benedictine Abbey which dominates this little town with free time to visit the gardens. Please note: it is a short walk to the entrance of Melk Abbey for anyone who walks at a slow pace it will take approximately 10 mins. In the afternoon our ship departs for Vienna.
Day 4
Vienna - Budapest.
Spend the morning exploring Vienna by coach and on foot. This is a wonderful city with a fantastic mix of Imperial Palaces and residences, Art Noveau masterpieces and excellent shopping areas. We return to our ship for lunch and afterwards return to the city for a guided tour of Schonbrunn Palace with free time to visit the gardens.
Day 5
Budapest.
Arrive in the capital of Hungary, Budapest approx. 11am. We have arranged a 3-hour step on guided afternoon tour of Budapest with free time to shop and explore this fascinating city. On the hilly Buda side is the Hungary of old and medieval Castle district including Fisherman’s Bastion. On the flat pest side admire the historic monuments such as Heroes Square. In the evening we have arranged a special visit to a Folklore Show with gypsy music and dancing with goulash soup and wine and on return to the ship there will be a short sightseeing tour with opportunity to view the illuminated city from Gellert Hill.
Day 6
Budapest to Bratislava.
After breakfast enjoy a visit to the Puszta Horse Show including a welcome Pogaca & Palinka (salty scone and fruit brandy). Return afterwards to our ship for lunch and sail along the Danube to Bratislava.
Day 7
Bratislava to Durnstein.
After breakfast enjoy a guided walk of Bratislava, one of the youngest capitals of Europe. Here you will also be treated to a Chocolate Experience. Return to the ship for lunch. The ship sails early evening to Durnstein, the most famous river town in the Wachau region of Austria. Tonight, is Captains Party Night.
Day 8
Durnstein to Passau.
We depart after breakfast for a short walk into Durnstein, the most famous medieval Danube river town overlooked by its famous ruined castle, where Richard Lionheart was held prisoner. Durnstein is also famous for its Apricots and somewhat unexpectedly, for the revival of saffron. We return to our ship as it sets sail at 11.30am for Passau.
Day 9
Passau to Wiesbaden.
We disembark our ship after breakfast and make our way to our overnight hotel, the 4-star Pentahotel Wiesbaden, Germany in time to freshen up before your evening meal.
Day 10
UK.
Depart after breakfast and make our way home with suitable refreshment stops along the way.

MS ARENA ****
This fabulous 4-star ship has 96 cabins split over 2 decks. All the cabins on board the MS Arena feature outward-facing floor to ceiling panoramic windows with French balconies, allowing you to take in the wonderful views of the river and surroundings from the comfort of your own cabin. The spacious cabins feature en-suite bathrooms with a shower and toilet. Theres plenty of space and storage for your belongings, plus air conditioning, TV, telephone, hairdryer and a safe all come as standard. You can choose from accommodation on the Upper Deck or Main Deck (subject to availability); all with contemporary furnishings, providing the ideal home from home on your cruise. Dine on exceptionally fresh and delicious dishes in the Panorama Restaurant, then head up for a drink at the Ambassadors Lounge Bar. When youre not at port, the fitness suite, library or sun deck are just a few of the places where you can spend time indulging in the things you love. Theres also the onboard shop for stocking up on souvenirs and essentials, and for your convenience there is complimentary WiFi onboard.
